20 yo Andre Romelle Young Jr Passes Away

So sad! 

Andre Romelle Young Jr, the son of legendary rapper and producer Dr Dre, has died.  He was found at his Woodland Hills home in Los Angelas on Saturday morning by his mother, who tried to rouse him. Although Young's mother called paramedics, they were unable to revive him. Young was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was only 20 years old. 

Dre's peoples confirmed Young's death on Tuesday, saying in a statement that, "Dr Dre is mourning the loss of his son Andre Young Jr. Please respect his family's grief and privacy at this time."

It has been reported that police do not expect foul play, but Dre's publicist failed to comment any further on the circumstances surrounding his death. 

According to Young's mother, he spent the previous evening out with friends - arriving home at only 5:30 am on Saturday. The autopsy performed on Monday failed to establish a cause of death and medical examinars are awaiting the toxicology report.

This heartbreaking news comes at what might otherwise have been a stand-out year for Dr Dre. His long awaited third solo album 'The Detox', which has been almost ten years in the making, is anticipated for late 2008 release. We send all our thoughts to the rapper at this time, and hope that he is able to smooth the bumps on this rough part of the road.
