Sorry, Maroon 5: Cardi B Has Said A Big, Fat No To Performing At The Super Bowl
Cardi B might be all about the bag, but not when it compromises her moral compass.
After rumours have been swirling for a while that she would be joining Maroon 5 on stage with them at the Super Bowl Half-Time show in 2019, in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick.
Page Six is reporting that a representative of Cardi has denied the claims that she was seeking a multi-million dollar paycheck for an appearance at the Super Bowl, and that she also wanted her own set.
“The rumor circulating that she wants a million dollars and she wants her own set is false," the rep reportedly said. "There was never a firm offer to begin with for a performance. There [were] talks about it, but she was not particularly interested in participating because of how she feels about Colin Kaepernick and the whole movement."
This comes after both Rihanna and Jay-Z denied appearances at the event on the same basis, and after reports that Maroon 5 are struggling to find special guests.
Like her or not, you gotta respect Cardi's sticking to her beliefs over a check.
