Demi Lovato & Max Ehrich's Breakup Is Getting Messy
Max Ehrich and Demi Lovato's split is now very public and altogether pretty messy.
News broke late last week that the couple, who got engaged in July, called it quits. "It was a tough decision, but Demi, 29, and Max, 28, have decided to go their separate ways to focus on their respective careers," a source told People. Your pretty standard celebrity breakup statement, right? Well, the amicable messaging wasn't to last long. In an Instagram Story post shared on Saturday, Max wrote that he’d actually found out about their breakup at the same time as everyone else..?
"Imagine finding out to the status of your relationship through a tabloid," Ehrich wrote. Hoo boy. Demi's people soon responded, with a “source” telling E! News Max “is lying” and that “Demi did tell him beforehand.” The source reckons Max is kicking up a stink because he’s “just trying to stay relevant.” Oh, and the nail in the coffin: “Her family thinks he is crazy and is so relieved she has taken this step.”
Interestingly, the breakup came just days after fans spotted supposed old tweets from Max Ehrich in which he spoke about celebrities he had crushes on, one of them being Demi Lovato's former co-star, Selena Gomez. There were supposedly old tweets about Ariana Grande and Gigi Hadid too. Awkward.
Demi Lovato came out and said the posts were fake. Max Ehrich then deleted his Twitter. Two weeks later, here we are. Read into that what you will.
