Elliot Page & Emma Portner Have Unfortunatey, Regrettably, Heartbreakingly Filed For Divorce
Actor Elliot Page and his wife Emma Portner have filed for divorce, and there's nothing we can do about that now.
"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce following our separation last summer," they said in a joint statement to E! News.
"We have the utmost respect for each other and remain close friends."
The two announced their marriage in the most adorable Instagram post in January 2018, with Page writing he couldn't believe he got to call Portner his wife, who he called an "extraordinary woman".

A few months ago, Umbrella Academy actor Elliot Page came out as trans in a powerful essay; an undeniably huge deal for the trans community.
While there may be a couple of fanciful (read: clickbait) stories doing the rounds, there's absolutely nothing to suggest that Elliot being trans has anything to do with their divorce. In fact, Portner appeared overwhelmingly supportive, writing on her Instagram at the time of his coming out that she was "so proud" of him.
"Trans, queer and non-binary people are a gift to this world," she wrote. True, tbh.
Here's hoping the two can find peace, stay close friends and maybe one day date each other's pals or exes – as, in my experience, is queer lore.
