We Hate To Alarm You Like This But A 'Parent Trap' Reunion Is In The Works
The cast of Disney's The Parent Trap, including Lindsay Lohan and Dennis Quaid, are reuniting for the first time since 1998 to appear on an Instagram episode chatting about the movie’s best moments and spilling off-screen secrets.
After teasing that she had Parent Trap news to share, director Nancy Meyers shared a preview of the episode over the weekend, explaining she and American TV journalist Katie Couric were behind the reunion. “Sorry for the mini delay but the Secret’s Out! @katiecouric and I got the PARENT TRAP cast back together for the first time since we made our movie. We had a blast,” Meyers wrote.
Couric also dropped the news, writing, “You won’t want to miss this!!”. She said the full episode will be available on her Instagram on Monday morning US time (late Monday night in Aus).
The special coincides with the flick’s 22nd anniversary and will help to raise funds of José Andrés’ non-profit organization World Central Kitchen. It’ll feature Lohan, who played twins Annie and Hallie, as well as Quaid, who played dad Nick Parker and Elaine Hendrix, Nick’s fiancé Meredith Blake. In the trailer, Hendrix says: “There’s a whole generation who thinks Meredith is, like, hashtag goals.”
Natasha Richardson, who played the twins’ mum Elizabeth James, tragically died in a skiing accident in March 2009.
